California Coast – 5 Interesting Facts

  1. The California Coastal National Monument is located along the entire coastline of California. From San Francisco Bay to San Diego you’ll see Whales, Dolphins, Sea Lions, and various other sea life.
  2. Sandy beaches and rugged coastline make for a beautiful trip up or down the coast. Driving along the coast provides a near unlimited amount of picturesque views.
  3. The California Coast National Monument ensure the protection of all islets, reefs and rock outcroppings along the coast of California. This protection protrudes inland for 12 miles along the entire 840-mile long coastline.
  4. The Pacific Coast Highway, PCH, begins in Southern California at Interstate 5 south of San Juan Capistrano. The PCH extends to the US 101 in the city of Leggett, just north of San Francisco.
