Leaving Alaska | Visiting Banff & Jasper, Canada
The Long Road Home
Late August 2019 we left Alaska, made our way down the Cassier Highway through Canada to Banff, The Columbia Ice Fields and finally arriving at Glacier National Park all in 9 days while meeting friends along the way.
It was a whirlwind of a drive after three months in Alaska, we couldn’t believe it was time to say goodbye and head south once again. We met so many wonderful people that have become life long friends. We drove many many miles along the Alaska roads. The whole trip was just amazing and one day we hope to do it all over again!
Banff with Friends
Seems like yesterday we were just in Banff, Alberta Canada meeting up with friends that we met in Mesa, AZ a couple of years ago. We are from Mesa while they snowbird there in the winter.
They spent the day showing us Banff. Banff is such a cute little resort town that is located in Banff National Park. We plan on visiting again and spending more time exploring the area.
This was our first ride on a Gondola with our Canadian friends and exploring Banff National Park, Canada’s first National Park. Once we got to the top of Sulfer Mountian we were greeted with stunning views of the Canadian Rockies and Bow Valley.
We enjoyed lunch at the rooftop buffet, all while taking in the breathtaking view and awesome company with our friends.
Columbia Ice Fields made for a perfect overnight stop along the way through Alberta. We didn’t have much time to explore the area, so this is on our list to revisit.
The Icefields Parkway and the Athabasca Glacier are one of the Candian Rockies most beautiful and fascinating sights. The scenic drives offer breathtaking views through Jasper and Banff National Parks in Alberta Canada.
We started our long trip in March of 2019 and here we are it is almost October, what a year it has been so many miles driven, people seen and adventures taken! We are planning our next adventure as I write this. How do you top Alaska? I guess we wait and find out what is up next!
