New Flooring in Our Fifthwheel
We bought our Heartland Bighorn fifth wheel in the fall of 2016 from the original owner’s who purchased it new in 2014. They are a really awesome couple and we are honored to own their rig. One thing we weren’t all that crazy about was the carpeting in the living area. So we decided to put new flooring in our fifth wheel.
We often wonder why they even put carpet in the living area of a fifth wheel to begin with. I suppose it boils down to personal preference and we prefer a much easier to maintain flooring.
So we decided, while we are home for the winter, to take on the project of removing the carpet and installing nice “hardwood” flooring in the living area and bathroom. We decided due to low traffic and comfort to leave the carpet in the bedroom for now. The bedroom is a whole different project and we didn’t want to get into removing the bed etc.
We picked out and used this flooring from Lowe’s. Lightweight for an RV which is what we had to consider since we can only carry so much weight with us. If you are a DIY type of person you can install this flooring with no problem. Its a really straight forward install.
