“Quiet and peaceful stop near Abilene, TX. ”
This park has a small lake, RC Airplane Airport, fishing, bird watching and more. The park was nice and so quiet you could hear the birds sing. We love to sit and watch birds, it is relaxing after a long day of driving from Oklahoma.
When we lived in Abilene Aaron flew RC airplanes at this very park during our Air Force days here over 20 years ago.
There was one other camper when we arrived but they left before dark and we were on our own. We backed our 38′ fifth wheel into one of the picnic areas and it was perfect.
Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile 4G LTE signals were strong so connectivity was awesome. Our weBoost cell booster was on standby just in case the signal strength wasn’t strong enough but was not needed.
We would have stayed longer if there wasn’t a 48-hour limit and will definitely be staying here again when passing through the Abilene area. It is primitive camping, which is fine for us since we have solar and a generator on board, we loved it!
