“Nice Campground near Dawson City, Yukon”

"Nice Campground near Dawson City, Yukon"

Campground Review

While we traveled our way towards Alaska via the Klondike Highway we stayed overnight at the Yukon River Campground just a short ride across the Yukon River from Dawson City to the Top of the World Highway. The ferry is FREE for you to cross the river and we had no trouble at all with our big rig.

You can find all of our Campground Reviews here on our 2019 Campground Reviews page along with a map of the places we have stayed.

Yukon River Campground

Yukon River Campground

Nice large wooded campground by the lake with 90+ campsites. The sites are roomy with campfire rings, picnic table, and FREE firewood. This campground is dry camping, drinking water, clean vault toilets, and trash bins.

We had a back-in site but there are also pull through as well. Close enough that you could walk back to the ferry and explore Dawson City if you have extra time.

This a beautiful campground set in the forest right along the Yukon River. We were traveling early enough in the season (the campground just opened) that we scored a riverfront site!

We will definitely stay at the Yukon River Campground next time we’re in the area. It was peaceful and relaxing after a long travel day on the Top of the World Highway!
